AUD $405.00 Ships within 3 days - Worldwide Notes: ** Includes SOB CD-ROM **
Automatic Antenna Splitter:
The SR161 is a low cost AIS receiver,
designed specifically for the Leisure Marine and Fishing Boat market. It acquires targets
from AIS equipped ships and nav-aids and displays these targets in
SOB.
All vessels over 300 tons and all
passenger vessels are legally required to carry an AIS transponder. The
SR161 AIS receives these transmissions and converts them to NMEA
format for use with SOB. The unit is supplied with a 12 volt power
cable and a 9 pin serial connector which will require a standard 9-pin
serial computer cable.
Specifications: The AIS Engine requires its own marine VHF
antenna (not supplied) or can be shared with a VHF transceiver antenna by
using the optional VHF Automatic Antenna Splitter. The antenna
should be mounted as high as possible to maximise range but should be
spaced not less than 1 metre from a transmitting antenna. The antenna
cable should be at least 3 metres long and the antenna should be sited at
least 2 metres from the AIS Receiver. The antenna should be a 50 ohm
general purpose marine VHF antenna. The SR161 is not watertight so it
must be mounted in a position which is dry at all times.
More AIS information refer to the
dedicated "Targets" Chapter in the SOB PDF User Manual.
Automatic Antenna Splitter: To simplify installation you can share an
existing VHF antenna by using this splitter. It safely isolates the AIS
receiver when you transmit on your VHF radio.
Smart Radio

cables to plug directly into the AIS receiver and your VHF radio. It is an
active unit that requires a 12VDC power source. Once installed, you won't
need to worry about damaging your AIS receiver when you transmit on your
VHF radio.
You install it by simply inserting it between your existing VHF radio and
antenna connection, and connecting the power cables to yoru 12V battery
source.

The NASA AIS Engine receives these transmissions and converts them to NMEA format for use with SOB. The unit is supplied with a 12 volt power cable and a 9 pin serial computer cable. For convenience the engine can also receive NMEA information from a GPS receiver (at 4800 baud) which it then sends on to the PC with the AIS data (at 38,400 baud). Specifications:
Various receiver parameters are factory preset but can be altered from SOB. The AIS Engine requires its own marine VHF antenna (not supplied) and cannot be shared with a transceiver antenna. It should be mounted as high as possible to maximise range but should be spaced not less than 1 metre from a transmitting antenna. The antenna cable should be at least 3 metres long and the antenna should be sited at least 2 metres from the NASA.AIS Receiver. The antenna should be a 50 ohm general purpose marine VHF antenna. This GPS-44 is a high performance serial (RS232) GPS Receiver designed for permanent external installations in the marine environment. This is a very tough device in an extremely slim design which can be pole or flush mounted (non-vertical rail mounting requires the accessory shown). Its standard NMEA output can be used
to feed any compatible instruments as well as the PC (ie: DSC/GMDSS radio,
RADAR, AIS Transponder etc). Supplied with DB9 connector fitted to plug straight into
a serial port (or via a serial/usb converter), and
bare wires for connecting direct to 12V or 24V DC ship's power supply.
|
|||
|
|
Adds 2 or 4 RS232 Serial ports to your computer. Each port is configurable up to 230Kbps and can be used with any RS-232 device, such as IMMARSAT, PACTOR, GPS, AIS Receiver, Autopilot, or any other serial NMEA device ... or for non-marine use: PalmPilots, Modems, Scanners, Printers, POS systems etc… Features:
